Pennsylvania State PTA

The Pennsylvania PTA represents a diverse membership and is comprised of members who are actively involved in providing children and youth with various programs and advocating on their behalf. Founded in 1899, the Pennsylvania PTA was the second state PTA to be chartered.

Throughout the past century, the Pennsylvania PTA has advocated for the health and safety of children, including promoting child labor laws in the beginning of the century, feeding hungry children during the Depression, promoting polio vaccines in the 1950s, and joining the National PTA in working for seatbelt laws in the 1980s.
