The California Office of Traffic Safety

The California Office of Traffic Safety aims to cut down the number traffic deaths and injuries each year. It offers grants to local and state public agencies for programs that help them enforce traffic laws, provide education to the public in traffic safety, and provide varied and effective means of reducing fatalities, injuries and economic losses from collisions.

Identified in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, OTS has several priority areas for grant funding, including:

  • Police Traffic Services
  • Occupant Protection
  • Traffic Records
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Roadway Safety
  • Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety
  • Motorcycle Safety
